You have got to try this place! – The best Indian food I've had in Socal. Everything is always cooked perfectly, the staff knows what they're doing, just wonderful. You need to try it for yourself!
Just wow! – Came here one night after reading about it online and it was definitely worth it! The host/owner(?) took great care of us and recommended the perfect dishes. My husband had a mix game meat assortment with vennison, quail, boar and one other thing, and I had an amazing salmon curry. Their naan is different from other Indian restaurants, definitely more light and fluffy, not too crispy. The creme brulle desert trio, which had chocolate, mango, and pomegranate flavors, totally surprised us. Can't wait to go back!
Romantic Dinner Easy Online reservations – My girlfriend told me about Clay Oven. My husband and I were celebrating our 10 Anniversary. I made reservations online at clayovenirvine website for 7pm. We showed up to find our table ready and had a very lovely dinner. Food was great temperature and portion sizes were excellent. Waiter was very friendly and efficient at managing other guests. The SOUP OF THE DAY Pumpkin Curry was out of this world. The owner mention the soup was a finalist in the OC Register Best of Orange County... read more
Great Catering Clay Oven – I have eaten at Clay Oven regular and decided to have them cater a business lunch. Food was ready on time good price and they went the extra mile when it came to delivery and cleanup. Even though we only had 15 sales people it was so much better than a pizza or burgers
Great Business Lunch Restaurant Clay Oven Irvine – I found this Restaurant a year ago while working for the Orange County Register Newspaper. I love Indian Food and wanted a quick place for lunch. Food Taste is Excellent. Services and Cleanliness is fantastic. Now I eat here 4 times a month and have brought clients, coworkers and even my boss and have always left Clay Oven of Irvine Full and with a real appreciation for their food. All the best
PATHETIC.... – Expensive, Small serving, Poor Service Food is pathetic....i think Clay Oven needs to know what exactly a biryani is... Extremely disappointed with other food also.... And yes you will be misguided by the website as it shows a grand place but its a small restaurant AVOID IT....
Home away from home – We've been coming here for the past 15 years and are almost always pleasantly surprised every time. Always perfect for a stress-free evening. The owner always seems to suggest the perfect dishes and wines to go along with them. We have learned a lot about wine and Indian food over the years just by coming here. My wife loves all the soups she's tried there. My favorite is their Chicken tikka masala. Their brunch is also great, especially with the kids.
Decent food, not worth your money – I heard good things about this place and decided to take a friend there who was visiting from LA. The service was poor- they kept trying to rush everyone out of the restaurant to close by 10 on a Saturday night. When a couple came in after 9, instead of just telling them that they were not seating customers any longer, they were really rude to them and rushed them through the entire thing. They even started taking away their serving plates without even asking if the couple was done (they w... read more
Delicious food and gracious host – Coming from NY, we weren't sure what to expect in SoCal re: Indian food, but Clay Oven put a rest to that. The host Pravin (sp?) was extremely friendly. He asked us what we were in the mood and he ordered our entrees for us (neither were regular menu items). The braised lamb shank fell off the bone and was cooked perfectly. The chicken and fresh figs dish was sweet and scrumptious. We will definitely be back.
