Excellent romantic lunch – We had a birthday lunch at Soluna this week and thoroughly enjoyed it. The banquette seating was comfortable and the decor was generally very attractive. The soups (tomato and vegetable) were hot and flavorful and a nice size for a lunch appetizer. The crab cakes with corn salad were delicious and the cornbread-encrusted catfish likewise. Small portions of below average food. – The first thing you notice about Soluna is the nice ambiance and friendly service. Unfortunately, that's the last good thing about this restaurant. The food is below average at best and served in ridiculously small portions. The only plate that was half decent was the steak. I could see this being a fun place for drinks before the theater but for dinner...skip it.
Really liked this place! – We were there on a Thursday night and there was a jazz band! The food was awesome. We loved how their "big plates" can be bought as "small plates" instead. Everything tasted great and it was a fun place to order a few different things and share it all. This place is also really nice, comfy and has a little bit of a gallery feel because there's a local artists' work on the walls. We'll be back.
Perfect Before or After Theatre – What a find! Just off Hyde and the theatre district, Soluna looked new. It was comfortable, spotless, great service and food. We were held up by an accident on the bridge; they told us not to worry when we called, held our table, then made sure we made it well before curtain time. They rushed, we didn't. Great Atmosphere Great Location – This is a welcomed chage that. The place evolves over the course of the day. Check it out as a coffee shop in the morning, lunch place or club scene. You pick. It's all good.
Pleasant Surprise – We went to show at Orpheum last night and made an OpenTable reservation here since the menu looked interesting and the location was spot on. What a pleasant surprise. Atmosphere was fun and the food was outstanding. I had the Watercress Salad and the Duck Breast in a wonderful caramelized sauce as a part of the Prix Fixe menu. great food great service great party – I had been going to soluna for a while for the night club but one day on my way to work i decided to grab lunch there. Boy was i surprised, the sandwich that i had with the salad a fries was the best ever. The next time i went, i had dinner and me and my brother faught over each others food it was so good. Great Ambience but food was bad – I was there last night with my boyfriend and another couple. I had asked for a booth setting and they had they ready for us after waiting 15 minutes. We all had decided to go for their fixed price menu of $27.00 for appetizer, entree and desert. I got the mango, avocado salad, very good, my boyfriend, a tomatoe salad, yummy. Great Food, Friendly Service, Cool Ambiance – 8 of us dined at Soluna for a friend's birthday on a busy Sat. night. We were sat about 1/2 hour later than our reservation called for, but the staff made it OK by provided complimentary drinks for us in the bar. The wait was pleasant in the cool bar area, and the staff was attentive throughout the evening. Friendly, professional and eager to give us a very pleasant dining experience.
