don't go here if your cat is diabetic My experience with this practice was unpleasant when trying to get treatment for my diabetic cat. I'd recommend you avoid them. I now go to a fantastic vet in Pikesville even though it is a 20-minute drive.
City Pets Veterinary Care is .. Horrible and overpriced. Switched to Light Street Animal Hospital and found that some of the things they were giving my pet was not needed. Like the Kennel Cough shot. That is not required unless your pet stays in kennels a lot. My pet never had.
CITY PETS AND DR. SHOOK When Lucky's other vet gave up on him and would no longer treat him for his allergies, Dr. Shook came to the rescue. When Lucky first went to Dr. Shook, his face was actually bleeding from his allergies. She treated him for his allergies and he has hair again and can actually live without his e-collar. Thanks Dr. Shook.you are wonderful and Lucky is truly lucky to have you for his Dr.
great hospital... This is a wonderful hospital, I have taken my animals there and they have always been cared for wonderfully. I trust the doctors and technicians, and have always been treated with respect. There is NEVER a wait, when you have a scheduled appointment, and the cost is reasonable. Everyone is always happy to see you, and love the animals they care for. As for the review further down, with the diabetic cat, I also have a diabetic cat, and it is my understanding that it is frowned upon to test blood glucose leve... read more
Top Notch Service and A Great Atmosphere I took my dog into CP for blood in his stool. First of all, when I called to make the appointment, the professional nature of the staff came right through the phone. I wanted to take my treasured dog to CP. After I arrived at their new wonderful location in the heart of Federal Hill, I was overwhelmed at how nice and spacious the new vet hospital is. There is a great new reception area with a waiting room that could hold 20!. They even served free coffee and water. When I arrived, I w... read more
Good for the animals Very good veterinarian. I am pleased not only with the service, but also with their prices. I wouldn't risk taking my dog to just any vet, and if you don't either, go here.
Wonderful Vets I would recommend the Whetstone Point Veterninary Hospital if you are in need of a good vet in an emergency situation. They were very patient and kind when I brought my dog in to have emergency surgery. They were not only very good with my dog, but they were especially good at calming the nervous owners!

Go elsewhere! I found City Pets to be a horrible experience-- both emotionally and financially. I want a vet who takes into account the big picture when advising on a medical care. It is important, I feel, for your vet to help you understand important factors in making end of life decisions for your animal. What costs will family incur for treatment? What impact will treatment have on the animals quality of life? How long will treatment prolong life?
