Rubbery Overcooked Lobster – I tried this place during Restaurant week. Boy, was it a disappointment. We had the oyster appetizer, which was very good & fresh. The crab cake was good as well, but then the entree came. You would think the Lobster would be the main attraction (it IS called city LOBSTER) but it was overcooked, tasted rubbery & it did not taste good at all. I had to drench it with fresh ground pepper. The Worst Food & inattentive staff – Yesterday evening my spouse and I went to the restaurant as it was close to work. We should have realised that since it was emplty on a Friday night at 8o'clock, it was a Bad Sign but we thought lets give it a try. Beware of this place – I have to warn people that the manager and wait service is beyond the pits.There was a serious overcharge problem with my bill and the manager was rude and was not helpful at all.All I can say about this place is buyer beware and CHECK your bill and credit card statement.

Great Food – I went during restaurant week. We first had drinks at the bar. Drinks were really good but pricey. The menu during restaurant week was great and fulling. We had a good time and would go back. Friendly staff.

Wrong on all accounts – I would never return to this place and feel an obligation to help steer others away, which I actually did while leaving. We ordered the tuna and salmon tar-tar, and the crab cake for apps. The crab cake was good, not great, just good. The tar-tar on the other hand was more of a chopped raw fish in mayo, very dissapointing to my 2 guests. Our 3 dinner choices were pan seared lobster, pan seared striped bass, and a steak. DO NOT DINE HERE!!!!!! – DO NOT DINE AT THIS RESTAURANT. This restaurant is horrible. The food was nasty. The waitress was rude and the restaurant engages in fraudulent activity. The bill said one amount and my credit card was charged a different amount. when i called to have the dispute resolved the manager was not helpful, i had to involve my credit card company. save the headache,this reastaurant is not worth it.

Once again fabulous – I never seem to understand these negative reviews for City Lobster. We spent the weekend in NY again and had a very good meal here. Of course we did not go during those pre-fix menu weeks, knowing it would be overcrowded and loud. I had the oysters and calamari for appetizers, oysters here are always fresh and the slection is always different. great key lime pie – Didnt enjoy our visit to City Lobster. It was not as romantic as the internet picture made it seem. My husband and I ordered the $35 pre-fixed menu meal. My husband was served the wrong order, but everyone makes mistakes. I love lobster, but my lobster didnt taste real, seemed sort of rubbery and my husband didnt like the way his salmon was prepared. Mgmt needs a course in Customer Service – This was my 2nd time here and my 2nd time with a problem- the mgmt last summer was pleasant and righted the situation- this time we had to do battle with the manager over what amounted to a $40 mistake resulting from miscommunication.
