Dr. Maisel appears to be on the cutting edge of new developments in treating blood type cancers. He has recommended immunotherapy treatments which prompts the bodies' own immune system to seek out cancer cells and destroy them, while leaving good cells intact. His treatment methods have included a combination of medications such as Revlimid, Velcade and Dexamethasone . Also periodic infusions to strengthen bones. Dr. Maisel seems thorough and easy to talk to. I get a good explanation of the question at hand. He is good, I recommend him.
Dr. Maisel explains things at a level you can understand and takes the time to address any questions or concerns during each and every visit. Very caring and knowledgeable.
Satisfied with my visit. He shows compassion in caring for my health. He explains result of tests and informed me that he will send results to my PCP. If care is needed before next yearly visit, I am told to call. I was impressed with the safety of patients in all areas , examining, waiting room. I would not hesitate to refer his name to friends/family members.
Unlike so many other medical professionals, I get the impression that Dr Maisel and his staff are sincerely devoted to their tasks, and are not simply selling their knowledge for profit. He listens attentively and sympathetically. The fact that I am in remission indicates that he is also an efficient physician. I am obliged to him and his staff.

It was a telemedicine visit and it went well. All my questions were answered and I fully understand the path we are on.
Dr. Maisel and his nurse, Alicia, are both amazing ! Their care, their expertise, their compassion, their reassurance. I feel l could not be in better hands than theirs. The entire Texas Oncology experience has been terrific as I've faced this new chapter and challenge in my life. Their Patience Assistance program is so wonderful !
Overall, I approve of Dr. Maisel. I would like him to spend a little more time during my visit sometimes. Also, if he gives a diagnosis, I would like him to explain the lab results which justify such a diagnosis.
