Chima Steakhouse named after chimarrao, a traditional drink of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, that symbolizes hospitality and friendship-certainly lives up to its name. Legend has it, in South Brazil traditional gauchos (cowboys) would consume a diet that consisted almost entirely of beef. The meat was seasoned, placed on skewers, and slow cooked over a wood burning flame. Historically, gauchos were known for their generosity and hospitality.

Exelent food and exelent service.I am completely satisfied
So I went to Chima yesterday for my birthday lunch! We went around 1:30(they close for lunch at 2) but they were really nice in accomodating us ! The lunch went well and in the end I had a surprise treat and a complimentary picture ! I absolutely loved my stay there especially Eric who helped us pick the right steak and for my sweet treat ! Will be definitely going again!
Had my 52nd birthday gathering here with family and friends. Its an awesome place to enjoy fine Brazilian style cuisine. My family and friends truly enjoyed the food and staff. What a great experience
One of our favorite higher end restaurants in this area. The service here is outstanding, they make you feel special and make sure all of your needs are taken care of. My husband and I love all if the different cuts of meat they have to offer. My favorite this time were the lamb chops, filet mignon and the one with with garlic. Their mashed potatoes and fried plantains are also to die for! We had a bottle of red wine from Spain with our dinner and everything was just perfect! Chima is definitely high priced but in my opinion... read more
This place is has everything. Ambiance, service, variety. I'll go again and again. ( Birthday May 21st, hint, hint..wink*wink*)
B - at best. Very dissapointed. Meats mostly overcooked, with the happy exception of the Picanha....which was perfect! Being from NJ, we have amazing authentic Brazilian and Portuguese restaurants in the area, Newark in particular. My husband is a huge fan of the experience so we try to go at least once to a new place when out of state. We have done all the big name/chain ones and also the small family owned ones....this was probably the worse in that price range. Now...what place lacks in seasoning makes it up with an amazi... read more
