There is know communication at this hospital at all. The nurse was great, the doctor useless. My daughter was in the hospital for 7 days and just pumped her full of meds that didn't work. I can't say is enough the doctors here are USELESS. If you need to go to a children's hospital go to Scottish right in Atlanta, you won't be disappointed. Also I would love to talk to the administrator of this garbage hospital. I think they forget that the people than have health insurance should have more say in there treatment.
The majority of the people you deal with are rude or incompetent. Want tests ran, don’t call you with results for weeks after being told we would know in two days. One department wants to put child on a specialty medication but cannot file the proper paperwork to get authorization through insurance. Call about it and clerk gets an attitude, cannot comprehend multiple explanations about issue. Most likely because said clerk is the one that doesn’t fill out the paperwork properly. As a parent visiting from out of town, I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience at Children’s of Alabama. From the moment we arrived, the level of care was truly first class. Every person we encountered—from the volunteers, to the medical student, to the nurses, and the pediatrician who cared for my daughter—was kind, compassionate, efficient, and incredibly reassuring.
