Huge thanks to the car seat staff and nurses who put me in contact with them. My 2 month old had surgery at another hospital and they sent us home without a properly fitting car seat to accommodate her spica cast. Children's Mercy came through loaning us one to use for the duration of her cast! Prayers answered as we were unable to find one in our own state.
My son was born at CMH in June. I cannot say enough good things about Children's Mercy Hospital and Outreach Clinics! Everyone involved in our care at the Fetal Health Center, Cardiology Clinics and NICU went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at ease. The labor and delivery staff was absolutely amazing, especially the nurses! The NICU nurses were also outstanding. As a medical transport driver, working and driving long hours, we take the time to eat while waiting for patients. I personally stay close so patients don't wait for my arrival for their return trip home. The Children's Mercy on Gilham Rd in Kansas City has it set up to go through a security check in order to obtain something that at least resembles food. They did in one ER visit what I was trying to get his pediatrician to do for weeks now. Children's Mercy was not only fabulous with working with a special needs /autistic child who is somewhat non-verbal but they actually CARE. Thanks, CM!
