I was airlifted to TGH (from North Port), Christmas Eve Morning, somewhere around 2AM, suffering from slurred speech and a severe headache. North Port thought it might be an Aortic aneurysm (Thank God it was not), TGH determined that, it was a TIA. within several hours of arrival, I was feelin pretty much normal . My son cut his hand off with a saw & we were flown here by helicopter from PG. From the time we took off he has been in such excellent care. Every single nurse, Dr & just any staff member we have come across has gone above & beyond to help us in every way. There is no way we could of held it together without them. His surgeons were amazing & are nothing less than miracle workers. His hand is reattached & he is moving it & to everyone's surprise he can feel his fingers which wasn't expected for 6-12 months not 4 hrs later!! W... read more
Unfortunately this is a mixed review! My wife was cared for by the Trauma Team and they were excellent! The problem is what the doctors on the floor write on a patients medical record! This is the second time after an extensive stay that a physician has added comments that are an opinion not facts. Meeting a doctor and having one treat you and perform surgery without having a report is extremely hard. My wife has been extremely gracious to these providers. I was there to visit my grandmother. The staff seemed to be taking good care of her. The I my thing I didn't like is the fact that the nurse was too busy for me to talk to before I left.
This was my second experience with TGH and let me tell I will not go anywhere else... Best physicians from USF Medical center!
My Mother has been receiving the best care I could ever expect in the surgery, Recovery, and ICU section of Tampa General Hospital. I had hoped for closer attention in the care when she was on the 7th floor but I understand that they are covering more patients per nurse and can be kept very busy. I wish the parking situation was better but I also know it is a huge place with hundreds of employees and thousands of patients. Awesome Experience ! All Staff and Team were very friendly and professional !!!
The staff and Dr. was amazing. Could not have asked for better care.
Nice job of Tampa General of screwing over the transplant patients. They had a great program but the administration couldn't keep their hands off and in the end they closed a very successful program.
