The hotel was clean and the beds comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The shuttle to downtown was very convenient. The 6 bus passed near-by and took you to downtown in about 15 minutes. We took the blue line to the Metra station to get to the airport. I honestly don"t see what so many people were complaining about. If you want luxury, stay somewhere else.. If you want comfort and convenience, this place works.
The rooms aren't new or fancy. What they are is comfortable & clean!! Beds were very comfortable , sheets & pillows appeared to be new & crisp. Great location!! Minutes from everywhere! Awesome price & safe neighborhood! They also had a fitness center that I was somewhat impressed with. Some hotels brag about theirs, then u get there only to be disappointed. The equipment appeared to be fairly new. I would stay here again.
I knew I needed a place to relax for one day, the hotel was nearby and available and I checked in through Expedia about a week before. The television had a lot of sports channels which I was looking forward to. It was kind of chilly during the day so I turned on the heat in the room, that particular Inn being close to Lake Michigan. It came up quickly on the system and was quite comfortable for the day. The Ramada Inn Lakeshore is a great place to stay if you're in the Chicago Area. Angie and the staff there make it their mission to make your stay the best. The rooms are spacious and very clean. I had an issue with my remote, and within 5 minutes I had a replacement at the door. Everyone was so nice and friendly. The restaurant, The Lakeshore Cafe, has the best breakfast buffet I have ever had.Their Friday night Seafood Buffet was good and there was a Jazz ensemble playing for those enjoying dinner. We arrived early about 9:00 and talked to the lady at the registration desk and she asked if I was checking out. I told her I was actually checking in and she said the hotel was full the night before therefore we had to come back at 2:00 to check in. That was fine then I told her I had my day planned and asked if I could leave my car there. She said sure no problem I would have to register my car on a sheet and it would be okay. Location! Service! The hotel is not new, but comfortable and value priced. It is very near four of the finest museums in the world, and also near to Navy Pier. Of special merit were the free-service van drivers - Ann, who drove us with great skill for four days, and John - who were very knowledgeable and accommodating. They got us there! The restaurant was an added bonus. We stayed six nights and will probably do it again.

Good value for money in Chicago area. Pleasant walk to Hyde Park, Science Museum, University. Friendly multicultural staff. The food in the hotel cafe is not trendy, but perfectly fine, and the bar is a very happening place, full of local color.
