The apartments and maintenance staff here are excellent, but unfortunately, the terrible management completely undermines all the good aspects of this place. The management team shows zero respect for tenants and treats them purely as people who owe them money, rather than valued residents. They have no interest in building a long-term, cooperative relationship with tenants, which makes living here unnecessarily frustrating. Good housing should come with good management, but sadly, that is not the case here.

Update: I was contacted by CHR management to discuss the issue and rectify things with another appointment for apartment tours. This time it was on time so will increase the rating. I have never given a 1 star review but Chestnut Hill Realty made it a reality! Requesting a tour with them is a non trivial process with lack of clear communication. On top of that on the day of appointment I was left waiting 45 minutes outside the apartment with no sign of broker or any information about their whereabouts from front desk. I had ... read more

Lived here for two years (Cambridge). The maintenance people were prompt and helpful and the building itself was nice, but the management is disorganized and unhelpful. They were late in responding to our request to renew the lease both years, then sent us incorrect information meant for somebody else twice during rent negotiations. I lived here for 5 or so years and loved every minute! Very responsive management when needed (which was rare because there were very few issues) and professionally managed. Quiet building, friendly neighbors, safe neighborhood, on-site laundry, and fair pricing for rent and parking
