I had an 8:00 a.m. appointment and arrived five minutes early. It was nearly 8:30 a.m. when I was taken back to wait a while longer. I received no explanation or expression of regret. Patients do have other things going on in life. Everyone was very friendly, but friendly does not equal courteous. It is courteous to acknowledge that you may have inconvenienced a patient and to offer a general explanation.
