I am an optimistic person so upon seeing the multiple negative reviews but still a few good ones I did what pcp wanted and went to this doc. He gets 1 star for graduating as even last in class called dr. Never have I been so dismissed, rushed and made to cry in my car like dealing with this man. Very poor, he was in a rush and said he had other patients as if my issue was not important and blamed everything on the corona virus.
Staff got me in the room 10 minutes earlier, that was great but in the room either they forgot I was there cause they never came back to let me know why I waited 1 hour and 40 minutes to be seen. After I went to remind them hey I am still here, he walked in, never apologized. He was rude, arrogant, I am sorry I was referred to him. when i was referred to Dr. Chekofsky for treatment of trigger finger i checked his ratings and was apprehensive due to the negative comments. i have been pleasantly surprised with my experience. Doctor Chekofsky has been very professional, he has explained in depth the options and procedures. i had the injections in two fingers and then surgery on the left hand. i am very happy with the results.
June 2017 Dr. C put a plate and screws in my hand to repair a broken metacarpal. June 2018 I came back because there were sharp points poking up under my skin. Dr. C’s PA told me it was probably pieces of sutures left behind and with time it should get better. Dr Chekofsky put a plate & screws in my hand to repair a break 2 years ago. Last year I came back because there were sharp points poking up under my skin. The PA told me it was probably pieces of sutures left behind and with time it should get better. It didn’t. I just went back and Dr. Chekofsky was extremely defensive (as usual) & insisted he put nothing sharp in my hand.. Disrespectful, condescending, arrogant. Poor post op patient education. Acted like my concerns and questions were wasting his time. Last office visit was 36 seconds. Would never recommend.
I read these reviews. The 1-star reviews concerned me. But he is in the St.Francis system so I kept the appointment. The bad reviews were right. He bursts in. Wouldn’t shake my hand. Made little eye contact. Wouldn’t let me even say how I injured my hand. Wouldn’t let me get a word in. Just said he had a “closet full” of braces and that’s what I needed. When this brace wears out he said come back and he will put another one on it. Guess I’ll go outside the network for an appointment.
I was motivated to leave this review because I saw he had many 1 star reviews and they are all for bedside manor type complaints. I will tell you, if you are looking for a surgeon to hold your hand, spend a lot of time with you, or get you into your appt. on time. He is not your guy. He spent 6.5 hrs under a microscope putting my hand back on. That was an emergency surgery at midnight and went to his clinic appts. the next morning. He’s passionate about his work. 10 stars for clinical ability.
