2nd time we made the trip from Hampton, VA. As always, it was wonderful!! The first time we stayed in New Bern and this past weekend we stayed at Warren Brothers B&B. We had a fantastic weekend!!! We LOVE the Boiler Room too!
Business response:
Thank you for your review, Monica! Glad you had a good time with our dear friends, Jane & Warren. We look forward to your next visit.
My husband and I visited for the second time recently - the first time in April 2016 and the second time in June 2017. Our second dinner was as excellent as the first. Jessica, our server, and Maria, the sommelier, were friendly and knowledgeable. The food is simply delicious and very inventive. We will definitely be back to enjoy another season's offerings.
Business response:
Thank you for your review, Kim! We look forward to your next visit. So glad you enjoyed your 2nd experience.
Our meal was fantastic, the service was great...loved the little Happy Anniversary card they gave us - and Chef Vivian and Ben both spoke to us and were very friendly and down-to-earth. I love what this place is doing for the economy of Eastern North Carolina and I love what they did to support the flood victims after Hurricane Matthew. It was worth every minute of the drive from Raleigh...highly recommend!
Business response:
Thank you so much for your awesome review! We look forward to your next visit. – Kind regards
It is everything you see and more when you watch their PBS series A Chef's Life. Literally the food is from farm to table. You clearly taste all the natural goodness in the food. A true labor of love goes into every recipe they prepare. Many of the dishes/entrees offered are right out of their cookbook. Our visit back on May 3, 2017 was memorable to say the least. Ben and Vivian Howard's entire staff make sure your dining experience is top notch. Another visit is not out of the realm.
Business response:
Thank your wonderful review, Gerard! We would love to have you back. Kind regards –
The food was spectacular! Wish I had gotten a glimpse of Chef Howard, however, she was not on site. Best food I have had in forever. I'm back in Texas now...until next time NC. !!
Business response:
Thank you for visiting us all the way from Texas! We look forward to your next visit. Thank you for reviewing us. Kind regards –
Enjoy both Vivian and Ben. Have used her cookbook numerous times. Also Ben's painting is great. I think one would make a nice headboard for a bed.
Business response:
Thank you Ginny!
While we've enjoyed Chef & the Farmer (and the Boiler Room) before, yesterday was the first At the Table event we'd attended and it was incredible! Thank you for a great night from start to finish. The food and wine pairings were beyond deliciousness. Getting the chance to meet and dine with others while enjoying insight from Chef and Andre Mack throughout our 4-course dinner was an experience in itself. We'll certainly be back for more of these!
I have had the opportunity to frequent Chef and the Farmer on a number of occasions. The food was excellent, staff provided fantastic service, and the atmosphere was cozy elegant. Additionally, I tried some of the Chef and The Farmer Beasts and Bird dry rub and it was tasty. If ever in Kinston, NC, I will definitely visit Chef and the Farmer for sure. In addition, for more casual fare, I enjoyed The Boiler Room close by
