It was fantastic, but then it always is. Service is great, food is as good or better than home made, and the whole experience is fun. It's my only choice for something special and a perfect pick-me-up.
The building is wonderful but the place smelled of dirty cloths used on the tables. We waited a long time for our lunch food and all four meals were minimally warm. Asked for fries well done and they were but they were cold. Onion rings were undercooked. Chicken salad seemed to be missing the grapes and apples in menu description. All in all, not real good.
excellent atmosphere, good enough service for being busy, menu didnt have anything particularly appealing and the beer menu is uncivilised. a talented head chef could get this place a couple more stars easily.

We decided to have lunch here after visiting the high bridge trail. The food was terrible. Whoever the cook was on 11/14/16 at 2:30pm needs help. We ordered the calamari to start. Super greasy! No seasoning whatsoever. The batter was falling off and the marinara sauce was watered down. I had the Burger with a fried egg and mushrooms. Again, no seasoning. I've been coming here for years and it continues to excel! You can't go wrong no matter what you decide to order. They have things no one else can match, including their french fries and homemade dill pickles. On top of it all, their service is typically top-notch as well. If you encounter a long wait, consider eating at the bar.
The atmosphere and food was amazing! We ordered dessert to take home after dinner and it was great.
I'm highly impressed with this restaurant! My husband and I met the owner at the bar while ordering drinks. He gave us a tour of the restaurant and incredible wine cellar below. The setting is phenomenal with the river behind the restaurant. I recommend sitting outside!
