Cheap is the best you can say – I have lived a block away from this place for the last two years. When I have nothing in the fridge, and I am too lazy to go to Freddies, and it has been a long enough time since my last visit, and I simply need to put something in my stomach, I go to CHA CHA CHA's. (Which is to say I eat there every couple weeks). First thing, their food is never the same size. The size of my burrito's and chimichanga's vary from day to day and cook to cook. I suspect it is because they have so much turnover.... read more
Authentic or not-food's great – Salsa is great & food is consistently good. And come on-who cares if it's authentic-if it's fresh & tasty! I really like the crab & shrimp empanada. Happy hour is a great deal. Service is always prompt & polite. They bring extra salsa and chips without us even having to ask.
who wrote authentic?? – Bad. Offensively bad. There is tasty "mexican" food that isn't really mexican at all. And there is tasty authentic mexican food, which is very hard to find (only two in portland i've found - one on MLK at Killingsworth and one in Gladstone) This place is neither. Please look up the defination of authentic as you seem highly confused. Then perhaps travel to mexico, or at least ask a mexican for some help before you call this stuff authentic.
Great food but.. – Everytime and I mean everytime I get burrito and I ask and get charge extra for sour cream it is never on my burrito. During remodel I would eat here 3 times a week order 3 dinners for my family. The burritos never had sour cream. I like there food very much but there a scam going on about the S.C. Check your order before you leave.
Cheap, fast and out-of-control delicious Mexican fare dances into Irvington. – In Short Loyal devotees relax amid the casual decor elements, include exposed brick walls, open duct work and rough-hewn benches and tables. Featuring typical taqueria fare, favorites include the pastor tacos (pork in an addictive guajillo chili sauce) and the namesake Cha tacos (an exotic mix of ground beef, raisins and olives). The burritos are all of considerable heft and packed with remarkably tasty fillings like beefy chili Colorado, tender p... read more
TACO HEAVEN – great lunch spot with authentic mexican tacos and lots of other options. a great value
Awesome Tacos! – The tacos here are similar to the tacos in Mazatlan Taquerias. $1.50 will get you a wonderul tasting taco with hints of spices. I ate the Al Pastor, Carnitas and the Cha taco tonight and I was impressed. The only difference between here and Mexico was the onions were not grilled on the charcoal grill. Other than that these were authentico! Oh yeah they have a great selection of beers, even my fav which is Negra Modelo. The atmosphere is casual and you are sitting at picnic like tables, but the music was good... read more
Incredible! – The food here is just incredible, and with an enormous menu, it's going to take me several months to try out everything that sounds good. I think I've just found my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Greater Portland area....and it's only a bit more expensive (and 1000 times better) than Taco Bell!
Quantity and Quality?? YES! – I am constantly surprised by Cha Cha Cha's ability to deliver quantity and exceptional quality. This location in particular seems to have an edge on other locations. Not only is the atmosphere pleasant, but you get to eat on real plates. (unlike Ole' Ole' where paper plates abound) Okay, the food: Taquitos are crisp and piled high with crunch lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream. Chimichangas are fat yet crisp and stuffed with any type of meat. (I recommend the carnitas) The enchilad... read more
