About this business
History Established in 1794. The land, now known as Scenery Hill, was first surveyed in 1785 by Isaac Bush and was given the name Springtown. Later, George Hill purchased the land and conveyed it to his son Stephen Hill in which the town was renamed Hillsboro until April 10th, 1867. It is believed that George Hill began construction of the Inn in 1788 and his son, Stephen, finished it in 1794. The stone used to build the Inn was quarried from the surrounding area. Beautiful setting for dinner, excellent food & outstanding service. Had the cheese platter & venison medallion appetizers, followed by the strip steak in a carmelized onion & raisin sauce with bacon roasted fingerling potatoes & grilled asparagus; squash & sweet potato fritter with creamed spinach; and a game hen with snow pea slaw & sage dressing. Had fried bread pudding for dessert.
This is “our” place! Everyone is so friendly and nice. We love April, the best bartender/ server in the world and chef Matt. We also spent the night and had an amazing breakfast in the morning. This place is a must try kind of place. You won’t regret it.
So happy to see the loving dedication that was put into the renovation of this historic building! Welcome back!
We have dined at Century Inn 1794 several times and the food and service is exceptional. The staff is very professional and always makes sure our experience is a memorable one. Also, we stayed overnight and our room and view was beautiful. Check out the best hidden gem around.
Had brunch here today! It was delicious! I had the smoked turkey sandwich - highly recommend. If you go here, make sure you get to sit in the garden room. Beautiful scenery out the window...
The food and service was excellent. I was also impressed with the decor of the entire restaurant
