Unfortunately, I just filled a report with the Better Business Bureau regarding this company. My party and I were unable to stay at the cabin so we cancelled our reservation less than 24 hours after making it. We were told by an employee, that I'm not going to name, that our refund would arrive in seven business days. It did not! It seems that several years ago they did a good job, but please heed my advice that as of now you should avoid this company based on their cleanliness, responsiveness, and quality. This was a literal hell experience!!! we set our reservations weeks in advance for a family vacation. Our communication with them wasn't the best to begin with. after 6 hours of driving with family. We were supposed to be arriving around 3/4 pm. about 12:30 we received a call asking when we would be in. I want to start by saying a vacation is what you make out of it, with that being said this company really needs to rethink their customer service experience and understanding of “luxury”. The cabin and location are fantastic and THAT IS ALL! Imagine you tell your teenager nephew to clean the cabin, well that is a as good of a job they did prior to our arrival. I don't think the place has been swept in a good while. The hot tub smells like cat pee and the air conditioner has mold growing out of it. we went to wash clothes and the dryer vent screen was so clogged it's a wonder it didn't catch on fire. I took pictures and sent to email address and while we were gone into town to eat, the manager lady called me inside of the cabin to tell me she thinks our stay is over and we need to get our stuff out . Pure Gold was absolutely filthy. We left and were offered full refund by Wendy but never saw it. She constantly lied about refund and we had to get bank involved with merchant dispute. She pulled same stunt with multiple people. I have all emails and texts proving they lied. Very unethical company. I’m glad we didn’t stay though after reading all the bed bug reviews. Do your homework and read reviews on trip advisor and other sites. Don’t rent from this awful company!
RecommendedIf you deal with Wendy you will not be disappointed. She is great to work with! We had a awesome time. Very laid back and relaxing trip. We will be returning soon.
We stayed at the Lazy Bair Lair this Memorial weekend and absolutely enjoyed our stay. While I wish cabin would have a few more towels and cooking items, it has everything you will need. Booking was easy and staff was very responsive, I loved text message way of communicating. Our heat was not working in the basement and maintenance came within a couple of hours of me placing a call and fixed everything quickly. We received extended 3pm checkout which was a nice bonus, felt like a whole extra day added to our vacation.
