The Cave of the Mounds is one of the most significant caves in the Midwest of the United States. The cave was believed to have formed nearly a million years ago, while the limestone encrustations around it are said to date back over 488 million years to the Ordovician Period. Haven't been since a kid. My wife, first time. Beautiful and educational. Go if you've never been.
bello lugar...hermoso. ..
Really clean facility. The staff were all super polite and helpful and the cave system and story behind its discovery is really cool and unique. Great experience.

Thank you for visiting and for leaving this recommendation!
Soooo amazing and educational! By far one of my favorite caves!
great place for kids and adults alike, a gem of wi.
Amazing cave! It is a small cave with a lot of beautiful features. The guides are great and teach you a lot. The tour groups are kept small and that allows everyone to be able to ask questions and take beautiful photos. We have been there twice and I would go back in a heartbeat. My family and I enjoyed The Cave of the Mounds way more then Mammoth Cave.
Absolutely stunning. Tour was very well done.
Me and my boyfriend Casey came for the tour yesterday!!! Austin was a great tour guide!!!! Definitely coming back!!! I've been to this place 10 different times over the course of my life...yesterday by far was my favorite...silly question of the day... when did you take the smurfs out and why? I'm guessing people couldn't keep their hands to themselves...
Business response:
Thank you so much for visiting we're glad you enjoyed it! The Smurfs came out in the 1980s, when we became a National Natural Landmark. We saw it as part of our commitment to keeping the cave as pristine and natural as possible. Thanks for asking!
I will definitely recommend this natural landmark for everyone to visit. I’m so overwhelmed with what I saw inside the cave! Awesome!
