My wife and I went on the Bald Knob trip last weekend (June 17) and it was great. The ride was altogether just under 5 hours which may seem like a lot, but it goes by quicker than you think. There is a narration by the conductor (you will not hear all of it if you ride in Car A because there's a lot of noise from the train) and you'll learn a ton. The place is awesome. My wife and I started in Elkins West Va. and took the wild hearts package to Cass. Loved the different styles of locomotives that were used back then and still today. Stayed in the 1900s company house was surprised by no a.c at first, but when you don’t see temps over 84 degrees most of the time it’s really not needed. Looking forward to our next trip soon!!
RecommendedThe entire park! The train ride to Bald Knob is absolutely beautiful! Specially in the fall. It is just the most peaceful place on Earth!!
This is one great place in West Virginia, not far from Seneca rocks, worth it to see, worth it to ride the rails.
