This is the Best in Rhode Island? – I moved here from NYC and thing first thing I ask is "where can I get a good pizza?" Lots of Italians here, so I figure I can't lose right? Wrong! Man, Rhode Islanders do not know good pizza. Glaring example is Caserta's. I've had frozen supermarket pizza that was better. For what Caserta's charges for a pie, you could send a kid to college. Another clunker is that they act like they're doing you a favor by serving you one of their atrociously over priced pizzas. Tasteless crust, like Wond... read more
Wasn't impressed – My husband and I are from the area and we weren't impressed at all with their pizza. We have had better elsewhere. Everyone has a right to their own opinion but we prefer not eating there again. Nothing to brag about and we don't understand why they have such a high rating to begin with.
Great Pizza – I have been going to Casserta's for over 20 yrs. Now that I live in TN that is the 1st place we go to when we get to RI. I love this place. It has the best pizza that I have ever tasted! It reminds me of being young. I recommend it to everyone.
This is the most over rated pizza ... – This is more like the italian version of french toast, I would say that this may pass as a breakfast snack, but it is not traditional pizza. I have had terrific pizza, awesome pizza and prize winning pizza. This is not the place I have had it!
Mythically Bad Pizza – Ok I know pizza and I know value however this pizza joint in the middle of mafia land is just plain boring...what the heck are you people thinking. The sauce is over cooked and bland, the crust is hardly cooked and worst of all your locals run around saying how wonderful this place is - I think they use the words "wicked good" to describe the pizza...so sad - you need a brick oven to cook pizza and for goodness sake add some spice to the dishes. Wake up - go to Italy or Chicago and get back to making r... read more
The one thing you'll never find in this casual pizzeria? Uneaten scraps of crust. – The Scene You have no one to blame but yourself for bad service at Caserta's: Someone in your party will have to play waiter for the evening. Fortunately, the only responsibility is to pick up your order from the chrome counter when your number's called. The big concern? How to get the food onto the paper plates without sneaking a bite. The Food If you're not a crust lover, you have no business being here. It's the thick crust (crunchy on the... read more
Not for Transplants – I think this pizza has a far greater appeal if you grew up eating it. I am from New Haven CT, and I don't care for this particular type of pizza at all. It is very heavy, and the sauce is very acidic. Although it looks and smells great, I don't care for the taste or aftertaste at all.
good pizza, bad counter help – the waitstaff at casserta pizza are a bunch of rude people. just because they have good pizza doesn't give the girls that work the counter to be rude to customers
yucky, clumpy, icky – I think this place had a good rep "back in the day" and now people go on what they hear and like in many things in life, they follow others. My parents brought this stuff home when I was little and I hated it. Now I'm in my mid-twenties and I still hate it. Bad crust, terrible, terrible sauce, rude young women with claws for nails working at the counter. Terrible dining atmosphere. That's my opinion, but if you check out what other's are saying, it seems to be the consensus. Ick! I'd rather go to Felini... read more
