Every time I come to San Diego I go to Carvers. It has a cozy feel of an old fashioned supper club. The stuffed mushroom appetizer is excellent, as are their salads. I have only had the steak there, however the fish entrees look great too.. maybe next time! I had the creme brûlée for dessert and my son had the mud pie which was recommended by our server and he was right, it was very good and enough for 2-3 people. Great friendly service, too!
My wife and I were at the Rancho Bernardo Inn for a golf weekend with friends. The golf course starter, Jerry, recommended Carver's. We're glad he did. Each dinner was outstanding! I had the Texas Chili Oil Ribeye steak and my wife had the Maple Glazed Pork Chop with Apple Chutney. We shared a bottle of wine and had a great Mud Pie dessert. they were busy and the waitress rushed our order. when we were deciding between two deserts she said "im just going to bring u the brownies. I ordered the ribey and it wasnt cooked as i asked and was kinda tough but it could have been the cut i got.
