We usually love carvers but this past Saturday was not good. Our filet mignons were not good. Very dry and chewy. Seemed like very old meat. Very disappointed.
The French Onion soup seemed to have been made with canned broth and top with onion straws. This was not a great deviation from the traditional crostini ans gruyere cheese. Very weak and lacking in flavor. The au'gratin potatoes were very heavy on the nutmeg. Too sweet and very wet in appearance. The Whiskey peppercorn NY steak was well cook as were the lamb chops. The special was a bacon wrap stuffed filet mignon that was drowning in a sticky sauce. Very hit or miss. For the prixe I will try somewhere else.
It was good but the portions are small. I like the nostalgic atmosphere.
The Lemon Squeezers played Classic Rock last night. We had the best of time playing for an energetic and complimentary group of people. Staff members Paul, Jen and Johnny were great to us and very helpful to everyone there.
