Carolina Timberworks, founded by Eric Morley, crafts hand made timber frames and post and beam work. We partner with Architects and Contractors to install our work across the USA. What makes this practical is the way we build our timber frames: we hand cut, pre-assemble, and carefully fit your timber framing in our shop, take it apart, label each piece, and deliver it to your site–where it goes together surprisingly quickly because we send the same craftspeople who spent weeks cutting and fitting your timber frame in o... read more

Judd Builders really collaborating with Carolina Timberworks for various reasons. They are extremely skilled, meticulous and creative, and it shows in the high quality timber they deliver. Their team takes pride in their craftsmanship and we would recommend them to anyone building a home.
Business response:
John, from your first call to the day we finished erecting the timber frame, we thoroughly enjoyed working with you and your team. Can't wait to take photographs of a party in what will be one of the most beautiful timber frame Party Barns anywhere!
Carolina Timberworks Crew, First off, I would like to thank each and everyone who was involved in the first phase of the Whittaker's timber frame. The entire process went smoothly and went off without a hitch, from design, coordination, and the installation. Everyone who arrived on the job was prepared and took the bull by the horns and really preformed flawlessly. The Douglas Fir timbers were spot on and the joinery looked perfect. Thursday afternoon Dr. Whittaker came out to the job to take a look at the trusses and he was... read more
It is our pleasure to write a review of Carolina Timber Works (CTW). Our experience with CTW was excellent and professional in every way. We were new to the High Country of Western North Carolina. As such, we had very few refrences; we had an idea of what we wanted as an end result, but getting there was going to be a challenge. We had no familiar faces to deal with or to know whom we could trust. As we became familiar with the folks at CTW we gained a great deal of comfort in their integrity, honesty, creativity and knowled... read more
Carolina Timberworks is my "go to" timber company when as a design professional, I need help in the design and the structural integrity of a particular timber truss detail for any one of my commercial and/or residential projects. Whether they will ultimately be awarded the contract for the project or not, they are very willing, eager and able to help me determine the most economical design for the look I am trying to achieve for my client's project. Their knowledge of the intricacies of timber properties is amazing. They hav... read more
Eric Morley and his team are truly timber artists. We have had them do two projects for us, both wonderful porches in the mountains - One about 10 years ago and one last summer. The workmanship is beyond compare! We have and will continue to recommend them to anyone who wants to build a post and beam structure - they're the best! Mary Ann and Greg Poole
Business response:
Mary Ann and Greg...thank you so much for your support, kind words, and friendship over the years. We love your latest timber frame porch, and thank you for being such patient models while I took the photograph!
The truly impressive and refreshing element of the Carolina Timberworks experience is the degree to which they value client communication. So many construction professionals are so engrossed with impressing the client with their own verbiage and expertise; they end up alienating and confusing the client. Not so here! Communication with CTW is comfortable and down to earth, and no question is ever too basic or simplistic—they take the time to make sure you, the client, understand both the product and the process. But they are... read more
Carolina Timberworks used my reclaimed wood from Revient, LLC and built the timber frames for my home and garage. They also did other timber and wood work in the house: a staircase; an indescribable, 1/4 circle, hanging timber sculpture defining my kitchen area; a coffered ceiling in the master bedroom and downstairs media room and a gazebo, screened in porch. Everyone who sees their work is very impressed at the beauty and craftsmanship. My garage will now have to sub as an entertainment room because it is so amazing. The r... read more
Business response:
On behalf of everyone at Carolina Timberworks, thank you. There's only one thing to say about your finished home: It is a work of art.
I hired Carolina Timberworks to build 9 radius trusses for a home in 2012. I got a fast accurate and very detailed estimate of EXACTLY what was and what was not included in the price. Carolina Timberworks came out to measure once and we installed them a few weeks later. All the trusses fit perfectly and the craftsmanship was top notch. Everyone at Carolina Timberworks was friendly, helpful and easy to work with. It has been two years since the beams were installed and they are still as beautiful as ever! Customer is happy so... read more
