We are extremely dissatisfied with Carl's Plumbing. They ended fixing one of two leaks I had requested service for. When I asked about the 2nd leak they said I have to do a brand new order, even though they had already approved servicing both leaks. They were not forthcoming in appraising me they would charge me per hour in opening up the wall, until after it was done. They had appraised me only to do the entire wall opening at first. I had two stoppage in the kitchen sink and in the basement laundry tub. I called ******** **** ****** and they assigned Carl's Plumbing to come out. When the contractor arrived he open up the pipe in the laundry room and called me down to the basement and informed me he couldn't snake the pipes because the matter inside them had builded up, became hard, that the snake couldn't push through the pipe, the pipes were a code violation, and they need to be replace. He came out to our house to look at a water heater leaking, through our home warranty. He said the water heater is broke and needs to be replaced-congrats we could have thought of that. He looked at the water for 2-3mins then said everything around it is not up to code and needs to be replaced, and left to send us a quote. It came out to be $1400 and broke it all down for us. Where are the negative stars? Carls plumbing was tasked by our home warranty company to repair our hot water tank. Our original tank started leaking and shorted out the tank. When the employee from Carls came to our home, he proceeded to tell my wife it needed replaced and there would be a cost. I called Carls Plumbing to put in a shower faucet that I had about 8 months ago. I called and they replied back by calling to set up an appointment to come the next day. ***** came and I thought that he was only coming to give me an estimate, but then he said let me text my boss to see if I can work on the 3 and 1/2 hour job. The actual plumbers who did the work and were very nice and quite professional. However, the company itself is shady. Why? Read on...AHS customer beware! ****'s will charge you a $150 disposal fee (something the local ********************** Inspector said is not normal). If your local trash service offers free bulk pick up, you don't have to pay them, but you do have to haul it to the curb yourself.If your community requires a plumbing permit for hot water heaters (and most do), you can take it out yourself as a ************... read more

My son had a serious problem with the bathtub water not turning off. He rigged up a broom handle wedged in the tub and wall to temporarily stop the water flow. American Home Shield assigned Carl's to handle the problem. The representative was on time, masked and friendly. He saw the problem and immediately knew what happened. Please read all reviews on this company before you choose a plumbing company. In 2019 I paid $600 to this company for a hot water heater that was under warranty because they said my HSA company refused to let them bill me anything over the $85 permit. The day of the install ( which all in all took the installer 2 trips to Menards and numerous trips downstairs to his truck) and just as I had written my check the HSA called to say they would approve payment if company would get the necessary paperwork to them! It took a month to get a water heater. The service call went in on 8/16. My water heater was finally installed on 9/14. They were horrible with ordering the water heater. It took weeks. They then charged an extra $105 for a seven-inch piece of metal to extend the vent. They are ******.
