INFERIOR PRODUCT - The name of the company is laughable. Their awning is anything but carefree. About half the time, the awning will not deploy. I have to climb up and bang on it, do a ritual dance and curse multiple times before the thing will deploy. The wind motion detector is battery powered and is a pain to replace - why battery? There are lights on the end of the awning so DC power is right there. I ordered replacement parts, the end-caps for the motor side and idler side, in May 2021 ...... it's late July and my order has been delayed repeatedly and I am not getting any response in email as to the status of my order. They've charged my credit card for the parts already and I am getting pretty close to thinking I am going to need to resolve this in court. I don’t know what is happening to this company. I work for an RV repair company and we have had orders delayed, not because there was a shortage of parts but because people kept telling me it was going to be shipped and that was not the case. Then after 12 weeks of waiting they sent the wrong parts. Obviously we have a very unhappy customer. But the worst part is every time you callYou are on hold for 30 to 45 minutes at least. Ordered 4 slide out awnings March 10 2021 and still have not received them. 3 times I have called to check progress and have been told they were awaiting parts. Called today and it appears the phones have been disconnected. Not looking good.
Zero customer tech support. We bought the BT12 remote awning with motion sensor. After installation nothing worked as described. The awning would extend but fail to retract anything more than a turn of the tube. Then it would do nothing. I called customer service to at least 4 times to get cut off twice at the 50 min on hold mark. I contacted a local travel repair company to install an awning over my slide out as water continues to get into my trailer every time it rains. The order for the awning was placed by the repair company with Carefree over twelve weeks ago, and has yet to be accurately fulfilled. The first awning to arrive contained the incorrect parts, and since then there has been a ridiculous amount of mistakes, including items being shipped to the incorrect address. I purchased an awning for a slide out on a Class A Motor Home to replace the original that got caught by a wind. My RV dealer suggested this one as protected from wind. However, it is not protected from cold weather. First experience, a few months after installation, was at an RV park which experienced an ice storm overnight. The next morning, could not bring slide in as ice was weighing down the awning in the middle and was caught between the RV and the canister that stored the awning. Rick **** is amazing and is willing to do whatever is needed to help out. Although I feel his hands are tied most of the time due to higher ups, I believe that Rick **** does everything he can to help you out. He is good at explaining things and his patience is amazing. Rick **** gets a 5 out of 5 stars, but I do not feel the same about Carefree Of Colorado.
