We purchased parts for an awing for a customer they arrived wrong. ******************** told us they unable to use the manufacturers part numbers to order parts, so after 14 months they agreed to. refund our money. It has been several months and no refund .They also no longer answer our E-mails. I can think of no reason any one would by their products..
We purchased and paid duty to a total of almost $500, for a replacement awning for our small travel trailer. We sent a drawing with all possible measurements. Carefree of Colorado was the original supplier to the Trailer Manufacturer. The awning arrived quicker than expected and we were initially very pleased, until we wanted to install it and found the size incorrect. I used to work here years back and when they say made in ******* that's a huge lie it's all from ***** assembled in ********** this company is a joke extremely low wages while the top brass brags how much revenue the company makes do not buy awnings from here they will not hold up long and carefree will not stand behind the product
First time using the awning it wouldn't roll up all the way. Ended up tying it down with rope to get home. I tried calling Carefree and was on hold for hours, never getting through. I also left a voicemail for a callback and never received a call from them. Bottom line, $3300 down the drain. I recommend never dealing with this company.
They lie about returning your money in a timely manner, they have had mine for 50 days, still no money.
The Carefree RV Awnings installed on the Winnebago Travato's have an ongoing SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE that Carefree has not responsibly addressed. I have watched other users having "self-deployments" of the awning and thought skeptically that it was just a user error. I even installed safety covers over the switches to avoid accidental deployment. Now it happened to me. I was driving on an open highway at 45 mph and the awning fully self-deployed. Unfortunately my RV was damaged by a tree limb and the insurance company's inspector determined the entire awning needs replacing. The order was placed on 9/20/21 and the repair shop was informed the wait time would be 4-6 weeks for delivery. On 10/22/21 I was on hold for 1 hr and 6 min and was caller number 15. I was told by the customer service **** A*****, that the wait time for the Freedom Awning was 2 months from date of order so it should ship approx 11/20. Sorry to say this business has gone to the dogs. I ordered two slide covers and that was ok. It got here before I thought it would. One was good the other had the wrong ploy cord size. I call and waited almost an hour to talk to someone. She said she would take care of it and send me the right size cord. So I waited over a week and no cord. We had a order placed for toppers for a new RV being built that simply never got filled so a second order was placed and it also seemed to be ignored for some odd reason. MONTHS went buy with COVID being used as a excuse and I get that but FINALLY when I reached a lady named ***** in customer service she took the ball and ran with it and our order was found, made and shipped within 2 weeks.
