We may have opened our first eatery in 1954, but the Carbone family story goes back more than 80 years. Alfonso and Antoinette Carbone came to America in the 1920s and soon opened up a small Italian grocery on the east side of Saint Paul, Minnesota. I lived in mpls 50yrs ago, and this was our biggest treat. Now I live in Calif, but my daughter and her family live in St. Paul, and when visit, they make sure we go there at least once. It's still as good as it was 50yrs ago, and none of the new places can come close to the awesome taste of carbones
