My husband and I went for our first and likely our last time after visiting Tryon Palace Saturday. We were seated right away however it took 5 mins before our drink order was even taken. My husband got the Bounty which he enjoyed. I got a ribeye that had gristle in it and not very flavorful, I also ordered shrimp with my steak (for an additional charge of $11.50) and only got 5 shrimp. The salads were great but the corn muffins were cold and soggy. Fluffy was our server and he was great after we received our food.
I had the scallops and my wife had the fried oysters. They were both fantastic and definitely worth another trip to have some more.

Blackened Salmon Tacos, a first for me. Also great craft beers available. Loved my bartender too.Everything was first rate!

My husband and I went here for our 10 year anniversary and we will never go back nor will we be recommending it to anyone! The serving sizes were miniscule, the service was awful, the fact that we were shoved into a corner by the bar basically up against a bar stool and my husband's chair kept getting bumped by people was ridiculous. They overcharge for food and it wasn't even good, everything we ordered was bland. I can't believe people actually go there more than once! Just all around awful and really disappointing.

Was in New Bern with my best friend visiting the New Bern National Cemetery where his parents are interred, when we decided to go downtown to see the Christmas decorations and visit the shops. We got hungry while walking all over downtown, when we spotted Captain Ratty's Seafood & Steakhouse. We were not disappointed. The food was hot, fresh and delicious! We will certainly be back soon! I had the Steakhouse Burger with a side salad and my friend had the Turkey Reuben Sandwich with a side salad too. Wonderful!
Went for the first time Saturday night before the Candlelight Christmas at Tryon Palace. To our surprise we were seated immediately upstairs and we loved that room. It was decorated and had a lot of character. Ordered the Bounty; shrimp, oysters, scallops and it was very good. I’m picky about my seafood and it was cooked well. The wine and house salad were also good. Waitress was friendly and provided great service. I’ve heard they have a great breakfast and I’m looking forward to going back and trying that.
The food was fresh! Salmon and dill dollop very tasty. The server was very knowledgeable and met our every need. I am looking forward to going back!
