RecommendedThe spacious islands make for a scenic getaway for dispersed camping. My friends and I stayed for a weekend and absolutely loved it. The river flowing around the 40 acre site provided the most peaceful scenery and we had the opportunity to see the island's neighbors, a flock of pelicans! The owners are very kind and hospitable. We can't wait to return. I highly recommend the Grand Detour Camping Islands.
This is the best place for camping! The scenery is amazing, you can camp right on the river, fishing is great, plenty of trees, there’s always plenty of space between you and other campers, port-a-potty’s clean, fire pits are equipped with grills, the owners are very nice and will help with any issues. Highly recommended!!!

Have been camping here for over forty years ....there's a reason.
We found this place after our camping and kayaking trip in Michigan was canceled due to storms and power outages. This is a great place for tent campers! We camped right on the banks of the Rock River. It was an amazing experience and the people that run the campground are wonderful people. I would, and already have, recommend this place to anyone.
Great place, they space you away from others until it fills up. Which is good for the others lol
All I can say is you'll be happy if you decide to come check out this place. Two thumbs up. Definitely coming back soon!!! �
