Camden Atlantic in Plantation, FL sent me $6000 for early lease termination, despite my documented hardship and unresolved health and safety concerns during my tenancy. The Apex, ** (**********) locations including ************ are managed by inexperienced staff that don't care about the clientele or the MOLD growing in the apartments due to leaks, poor HVAC circulation, or other known problems at their locations for years...see yelp reviews for Apex, ** ********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************(direct)

When I first moved in, the apartment they tried to assign me was in terrible condition. It had visible mold around the windows and in the bathroom, and cracked walls. It was clearly not ready for anyone to move into and should never have been offered as a livable unit. After I requested a different apartment, I was finally placed in one that was in better shape, but it still wasn't perfect, because the fridge did not work and it took over a year to get a fridge that was working properly and the tub had a crack. I recently applied for a unit in this community. They requested a $400 deposit while processing the application. I was denied on March *******. While they accept the deposit via bank card, they do not refund the same way. Ive been waiting for the refund, which they say will arrive in check form in 21 days. That timeframe has passed and Ive yet to see my refund. Upon reading reviews (a bit too late) I noticed that its their habit to slowly release your deposit check. BEWARE, DO NOT PAY THE DEPOSIT. Someone rented an apartment in my name, and now a debt collector Hunter ******** is coming after me for 12,331.84 in rent from Camden Holly Springs. How did this happen, still waiting for a call back to get this straightened out. I have a case number and the people are in jail. Sad. I saw they had a move-in special and pretty good rates going for the month of September. From the website I could not tell which apartments were upstairs or downstairs, so I called their contact center. I spoke to the representative and specifically stated that I would like to be on the first floor and do not want any stairs at all because I have two small toddlers, and they are special needs. She gives me an apartment number and says that there are no stairs and sent me a quote for that particular apartment to my email... read more

I truly believe this place was NEVER inspected and nobody took the time to even consider the fact that this place was not move in ready. I got to see my empty apartment less than 24 hours before I was supposed to move in and when we entered the home people were running our electric that we were already paying for and touring our home that we were moving into in less than 24 hours. Absolutely stay away. Lived there for 5 months (Scottsdale location). They are an absolutely useless, money hungry rip off. “Luxury” is an ironic joke. Trash strewn through hallways (for an extra $38 a month!) plus the cans in the garage are always spilling all over (that amount varies per month - usually $15 or so). Trash is really the theme - that what this place is. Lied to get me to sign the lease - I very specifically asked about the noise level and they said it was quiet. We do regret this resident’s level of dissatisfaction. Our records do show communication with Megan before and after the move-out process. There was one discrepancy on the final statement which was corrected. Ample time is given to all former residents to pay final charges. Once the deadline has passed, the option to pay online and directly to the Landlord is disabled.
