I dont care if it was the people that raised the beef or not. The packing has this company's name on it. I got a package that said beef brisket and it was a quarter inch thick and as big as a small turd steak. pathetic attempt in ripping someone off. Anyone that know what a brisket looks like would feel my frustration. Mine probably weighed less than a pound wtf!!??
We bought a 1/2 a cow from a lady which she had Caledonia packing butcher the cow and package our meat. Big mistake! We’ve done this many times, and it was always the same size cow. They gave us mostly ground beef and the steaks we actually did get are thin and cut in half, we are so disgusted by there service. With a 1/2 cow with them we would usually get the same amount with a 1/4 cow with Galesburg packing company. Don’t go here they keep what they want.

We apologize that the meat was not what you expected. Our options have been streamlined due to the high volume of animals during this pandemic that need butchering. We do not keep any product here that belongs to customers.
Just had the worse experience ever with Caledonia Packing. We took two cows to them and received back an extremely low percentage yield. I called to ask about it and it was VERY clear that Mike did not care. He was not understanding, nor did he truly listen to what I was saying. Think twice before you go there.
These guys are great and are very easy to work with they make.sure u ate 100% satisfied! Love this place!
Very low percentage yield. mostly ground. invoice wrong and full of typos (re quantity of packages, apparently). Will not purchase from farmer again if they use CP. The only thing I liked was the online cut form, but perhaps they should note that their average yield is barely 50% of hanging weight... which is very poor. had i known that, i would have preferred to do our own cuts.
They kept most of the good cuts. We brought a huge steer in for processing. Was charged over $800, we got tons ground beef, stew meat, pot roast meet and soup bones. Got a few pieces of filet, some delmonico, new York strip and a few ribs. No signs of Prime rib roast, no Tbone or porterhouse steaks. So very disappointing, will never use again.
We take our meat into Caledonia for a couple years now, and this weekend we had the WORST experience with Mike!! He is extremely rude, doesn't care about anything, does't want to help! He called my husband about one of our cows and couldn't give us any information on what was going on other then one wasn't getting up (which they were perfectly fine when we dropped them off) , didn't keep us updated on anything, just decided he would get "rid" of it without talking to us about it. I'm extremely mad at them! Unprofessional
