Best Hamburgers in OR!! – Calamity Jane's has the very best burgers, shakes, fries, etc.. In Oregon!! I grew up there so I know!! My family has known the restaurant owners, since they started the restaurant, and they are such wonderful people!! It has a great atmosphere! The servers have always been so kind! The decorations are so cool, especially the swinging bar doors. I wish I was still living in Oregon, I miss it!
Truly Unique – Having lived east of Sandy for over 20 years, my family (including 3 boys) often stopped here on our way to town. The boys loved all the choices in burgers and the wonderful milkshakes. I could never finish anything, but I sure enjoyed trying! Calamity's is a great family experience...why, one afternoon, we were feasting on our favorites, and in walked Davy Crocket, plopped himself right down at our table and gave my small sons the thrill of their lives! Can't beat this great place!
Best Burgers Anywhere!! – My family and I are burger fans. We finally tried Calamity Jane's. WOW, Best Biggest burgers out there!! My kids shared the Marhmallow and hot fudge burger, yep, that's right, hamburger patty, bun, hot fudge and marshmallow cream. Sounds very strange but my husband and I both tried it and LOVED it!!! Also the milkshakes are the best I've EVER had! Cant say enough about the nice people and wonderful food. Also, we went there for Mothers day and I got a free potted Mum!! Heck, you dont even get that at... read more
The most variety in burgers! – Have been visiting all the highly rated burger joints like Helevetia etc. So far, this is absolutely the best. Great atmosphere. The burger menu has to be the most extensive anywhere (and I mean "anywhere"). Try the Black Bart- a polish sausage burger (1-3 patties along with spicey polishs sausges slices in a huge sandwich). I like the fact they offer a condiment bar too. The fries however were not that good-- not hand cut and a bit soggy when they arrived.
I love this place... – I've been frequenting Calamity Jane's for years, and I've never found a place that has comparable food. The burgers are massive and come in 1/3lb increments. The drinks are gargantuan. The variety of choices is dazzling. Pie cherries? Sour Cream? Peanut Butter? If you've ever thought of it, they have it for your burger. Since its only location is in Sandy, it can be quite a drive for Portlanders, but it's well worth the trip.
Couldn't Love it More! – Visited for the very first time earlier this year, I couldn't ask for a better burger! Only advice, don't be ashamed of the "city slicker" these burgers are super filling and worth the drive to Sandy.
The Great Calamity Jane's – This place is great. Great people, atmosphere, location, and most of all food. The world famous burgers really are all that. I have met people from Sydney Australia who have eaten there. On the menu is just about any thing you could desire on a burger. With three different sizes to chose from any appetite can be filled. Thank you to the folks at Calamity Janes for providing a great place to get a burger.
If you're one who likes to have a little fun at dinner, then come to Calamity Jane's in the middle of dinner hour. That's when all sorts of folks come from all over to enjoy a good meal with an old western atmosphere. It's best to come when it's crowded because the more the merrier. The staff especially like to play it up with the old western theme. And if it's your birthday, be sure to get yourself over there, they'll have you standing and singing on the tables if you're willing.
A Calamity--I need to go up 2 pant sizes – I went here with my wife just because she wanted to visit her brother in Sandy, and after we all came here I wish this place was closer. The burger reputation is well-deserved; I ate the biggest one there (I can't remember what it's called), and got very full, and I'm an AYCE veteran. My wife's chicken fried steak was so huge and good looking I had to try a bite of that, too, and her small-framed brother ordered a simple sandwich that also managed to overflow the plate. Fantastic am... read more
