Love the bar – This place is amazing...I was a little hesistant about going here thinking it was a place where mostly Indians hang out...but I had an AWESOME time...a very diverse crowd. The food is really good...but even better is the bar. The drinks are STRONG and the guy bartender on Saturday is possibly the best in Philly. Its a beautiful place..amazing interiors....very IMPRESSED...
Terrible Indian food – As a true connoisseur of Indian food, who has learned to cook Indian cuisine from the very best, your food left a lot to be desired. It is by no stretch of imagination true Indian food, and at best can be called neo-American Indian fusion food.....I would strongly recommend that you reclassify yourself as such to avoid disappointing genuine patrons of Indian food.....the locals from Old City probably love it since they don't know any better, and anyway would only want the bar..........a very disappoint... read more
Amazing drinks!!! – The drinks here are just absolutely delicious. Have Scott make them for you. He is an AMAZING bartender. Their martinis are beyond yummy..My favorite is the white chocolate banana martini... HEAVENLY!! Check out the place - late nite on Saturday nites- its full house with great music, beautiful people and ofcourse the BEST martinis on earth.
tantra party is great! – After 11pm on Saturdays, this space becomes a really fun lounge. Me and my girlfriends have been checking out 'tantra saturdays' and it's been a blast. The dj Shom Chowdhury is great...not to mention sexy! He keeps the place energized with mostly hip-hop. I haven't tried the food here yet, but I've heard it's pretty good. Defintely worth checking out in Old City.
Great late night scene – Good crowd, no cover and great music. Tantra Saturdays with Shom Chowdhury and crew spinning hip hop and international flavor is a lot of fun. Really good vibe in Old City. The late night menu is pretty good too.
Great Food Awesome Ambiance – This is the best indian food i have had in a long time. The pricing is reasonable & the serving is filling. But the best thing about the place is not the food but the ambiance. I would strongly suggest it for an romantic dinner. Its not very kid friendly, but not bad either, as long as i go before 10ish. Parking could be a problem, so make sure u go atleast 20 min before to give u time to park.
Great Food – This place has great Indian Food. I hate the neighborhood and parking is a disaster, but it's worth heading to this place on a weeknight (or better yet for lunch). Don't try to go to Olde City on a weekend. Our server was slooooooow, but we were having a good time so it didn't really matter that much.
Kdos Scott – One of the best bars in Philly. Awesome bar specials. The bartender, Scott, makes it completely worth while. Many of the other people in my office think so too.
Its better afterhours – First of all, let me say that i frequent cafe spice as a late night spot, rather than a restaurant. My indian friends tell me that cafe spice is the closest they have come to finding authentic food in america. However, my favorite thing about this place is the atmosphere afterhours. DJs rodrigo and randall of tigerhook ply their trade after 11 pm, spinning deep to true progressive house. Excellent drink specials at the bar, good mixed crowd and a great atmosphere to just chill.
