About

This Center City café with a gourmet flare is a popular brunch spot for local hipsters. The metallic silver and red décor adds a European feel to the buzzing dining area. An array of fresh salads and Panini's are offered during lunch hours. Brunch is featured on the weekends with items like Nutty Monkey Crespelle, an Italian style crepe filled with bananas, chocolate hazelnut spread, and homemade whipped cream and Margherita pizza with basil pest. With delicious food, great coffee, and friendly service, Café Lift will be a fixture on the Philly dining scene for a very long time to come.

eh. This place is conveniently located to where I live so I thought I'd give it a try after hearing so much about it. The atmosphere is a bit weird. I sat outside and it's a weird location to have outdoor tables. The neighborhood is borderline sketchy. I had homeless people coming up and begging me for money while I was eating and I felt like I was going to get mugged. Their menu isn't too diverse. Not many vegetarian options. And the food was a bit bland. No interest in going back unless I have no other options.

Best Brunch in the City!! – Cafe Lift is the best brunch place in the city. It offers tons of great menu items, plus a frequently updated Specials board. My fave item is the "Scrambled Benny," which is a lot like Eggs Benedict, except the ham is replaced with lump crab meat and the eggs are scrambled instead of poached. The only problem I have with the place right now is that my husband and I order the same things everytime we go there! Anyway, this restaurant is in the bottom of a loft building and it still maintains that loft feel. The food is really delicious and affordable and the menu seems to offer a lot of variety (even though I always get the same thing). It is clean, the servers are friendly, and it's good for a couple, a group, and even folks with kids. Also, on Sundays, they give you a free slice of yummy bread pudding while you're figuring out what you'd like to eat. One thing you should know -- this place ONLY accepts cash.
