About this business

Editorial fromThe line begins almost before the restaurant even opens. This small, unassumingly decorated restaurant knows how appealing it is since it is audaciously titled Burma Superstar. Burmese cuisine, as authentic as you can get it stateside, is…

Super-licious – This is a wonderful gem of a restaurant! The food is unique, delicious and inexpensive. Tea leaf salad is a must-have. The waitstaff is extremely friendly and will make recommendations if asked. Casual bustling atmosphere. Do not go at peak dinnertime if you are starving because there is often a wait to get a table.

Please Ignore The Idiots – Be aware that there are certain self-important people in the world who feel that if they don't get waited on hand and foot, or have to wait 30 seconds for a water re-fill they will say it was the worst service ever. I can't think of anything more wrong than saying this about Burma Super Star. It's a family run restaurant and it's popular. The wait staff is over-worked and they may not be 100% professional, but they are exceptionally nice, gracious, and generous. In fact they go out of their way to ... read more

Worth trying – I went to Burma Super Star recently with three friends and had a very pleasant time. The food is different and definitely worth trying. The tea leaf salad is delicious; if you have more than 3 people get the 1.5 order version. The other entrees -- pumpkin pork, curry eggplant, catfish soup, and mango chicken -- were so-so, but not bad (I'm known to be pretty picky, so you might like them more). Sangria was a disappointment, the other drinks were good. Overall we were quite happy and would come again.

Frequent visitor – Well, my wife and I are frequent visitor at this restaurant and we love their Burmese food! Very much like home cooking, consistent. We normally there during the day for Samusa with Moo Hing Nga (Burmese national dish) or On Noh Kaukswer noodle soup(normally will take couple hours to make). They have two type of cuisine, Burmese and Chinese. Some Burmese dishes and chinese dishes don't mix well. Those of you who cook asian food will know why. So if you order try to stay with one type of cuisine. We also li... read more

Burmese Star is the Super Star – We had a large party for a birthday dinner on a Saturday evening. The staff was so attentive considering how packed the place was, they even dimmed the lights when they brought out the lit birthday cake! The food was just amazingly well prepared, presented and served. Parking is no easy feat in that area and reservations are not just recommended but a necessity! They are a smaller restaurant but offer a wonderful dining experience. Worth the wait!

My favorite restaurant – Its not really their fault that the wait is long, and their food is worth the wait. If you really hate waiting, go early in the evening or late right before closing and on a weekday. In the past few years their reputation grew by word of mouth and by their incredible unique food. There was no way to anticipate their popularity, and while they should expand, I do like the small restaurant setting. Highly recommend the ginger-lemondade, their salads (tea leaf or ginger), their delicious burmese curry a... read more

Worst Service – The service my group received at this restaurant is the worst I've ever experienced. It was not worth waiting an hour for a table to have to continually flag down the waiter, who seemed determined to ignore us as we tried to make eye contact or otherwise get his attention to make requests for things such as menus and portions of our order that were forgotten. This was particularly frustrating, as he and the other waiters seemed to linger at other tables and suck up to other diners. The food was too mediocre t... read more

Not So Great – After hearing so many positive recommendations, I was sorely disappointed. The wait was way too long (an hour), and in the end the food wasn't that great. It wasn't very flavorful -- you'd do better and get richer, better tasting flavors eating Indian food or Chinese food. Service was horrid. Our table was completely overlooked and they didn't listen to our order and screwed up an item. They then sent the waiter over to argue with us about it. Never going back.
