Justa lika bein' served bya momma! – I felt like I was eating in the house of my friends Italian grandmother all over again, but with better food. Atmosphere is great and you can even eat in the kitchen! A definate must see if you come to Austin!
When dinner needs to be fun – This is really the best place to take people when your dinner should also be a good time. It just seems to come naturally with the family style dishes. I recommend the garlic mash potatoes. They have little pools of melted butter, which sounds disgusting, but it is really yummy and warm. It is a good companion to pasta. Have wine. Have coffee. Oh, soooo full! – This is one of those places that you should tell everyone you invite to your gathering not to eat for the entire day preceding! They're going to need the room for the immense portions of food! We had my brother's birthday dinner at Bucca di Beppo and had a blast. Like being in Italy – I grew up in Germany and have taken many trips to Italy. This is the closest thing to real Italian food/atmosphere. If you're looking for the type of restaurant where you pay for the artistic drizzle of sauce over 2 oz meat, or getting in and out fast, this is NOT the place to go. You're obviously better off at a plush place or a Taco Cabana. happy and very full – This is one of the most fun and tasty dining experiences in town. You get to try lots of dishes, eat way too much and talk as loud as your want. I went with a group of six and we each took home lunch for the next day. The ravioli and chicken parmesean were out of this world. I loved the house salad with tons of cheese and great dressing.
