Did you know your teeth are constantly growing? It's true. One of the roles of upper and lower teeth is to keep their opposite number in check so it doesn't become too long and cause problems. The phrase 'long-in-the-tooth' is not a convenient myth.

Making custom dentures takes a lot of time. A patient will have to see the dentist several times to make sure the dentures will fit perfectly. Custom dentures are made using quality material to ensure they'll last a long time.

Plaque, that pesky substance that needs to be removed with regular cleaning, is formed by bacterial colonies that have actually mineralized, attaching to teeth and causing them to decay. Regular brushing can slow down its formation, but most people need to have it stripped away periodically.

We should brush our teeth for two minutes. Flossing takes about a minute or two. If you do this twice a day, that's only six to eight minutes of your time. Not much, if you ask us, for a lifetime of healthy teeth.

Be sure to speak to your dentist about the right mouth rinse for you. While fluoride rinses help in the prevention of tooth decay, fluoride is not appropriate for everyone, such as young children. There are many types of mouth rinses on the market such as for dry mouth, plaque prevention, fresher breath, stronger teeth, and gum health, to name just some.
