Nicknamed the "Little Smokies" because of the area's resemblance to the Great Smoky Mountains, Brown County encompasses nearly 16,000 acres of rugged hills, ridges and fog-shrouded ravines. Glaciers from the most recent ice ages stopped short of the "hills o' Brown," but their meltwaters helped create the narrow ridges, steep slopes and deep gullies of Brown County State Park. Beautiful State Park. We drove around while waiting to go to another adventure in Nashville.
Beautiful place! We have stayed at the Abe Mountain Lodge cabins, went horseback riding, and hiked in the woods. Love it there!
The trails! Choices of trails. How the trails have different levels. Well marked.
Most beautiful state park! The saddle barn is amazing!!!! Horses are so well cared for and the ride was well worth our 4 hour drive. loved every minute of our get away. Will definitely plan another adventure here!
Love this park! We have been twice this year already and are coming back in October. A lot of the reviews have people getting annoyed about lots of people, or dogs, or wild animals. If you don't want to be near other people and their animals don't camp in a community park... And if you don't want to be around nature, I'm not sure what to tell you, maybe camp in your house!!!
