Nicknamed the "Little Smokies" because of the area's resemblance to the Great Smoky Mountains, Brown County encompasses nearly 16,000 acres of rugged hills, ridges and fog-shrouded ravines. Glaciers from the most recent ice ages stopped short of the "hills o' Brown," but their meltwaters helped create the narrow ridges, steep slopes and deep gullies of Brown County State Park. Doing some contract work here under a friend of mine. Gorgeous and huge park. Nice amenities. Great comfortable lodge. Nice cabins, and best of all - the trails!
Love the park, love staying in the main lodge...one of these days we are going to have to try one of the cabins or go camping. Our favorite Indiana park, and there are some good ones!!
Beautiful! Great place to drive through! The park was clean and the park rangers were very helpful.
We have been camping here for years. Campground and park are beautiful. Four star review though, because the maintenance of the restroom/bath houses has fallen off this year. At least on toilet out of order, multiple sinks/faucets don’t work. Some have only one working hand dryer. Also, when the cleaning crews come in, they don’t do a very good job cleaning. Beautiful park, with what appears to be brand new asphalt, so super smooth driving within the park.
Brown County State Park is my favorite place ever. It is so beautiful.
