I stayed in Base Camp last weekend with my roommate and we absolutely loved it! The place was clean, cozy and had everything we needed to make us feel at home. The location is also great! We do a fall hiking trip every year and this was very close to the trails. The colors were beautiful and the view at the top of John Rock was well worth it. This place is a gem. Many different options; all beautifully decorated and accommodated by an inviting and informative Manager. The entire property is outstanding and ambiance is spectacular. If you are in the area, check out this option. You won't be sorry and I am sure you will be a return visitor. Thanks to Elisabeth and Michele for an outstanding vacation.
We could not have made a better choice! The Garden level of the Stonehouse could not have been more lovely. Your attention to detail and knowledge of the area was impressive. The location has the best of everything - Hendersonville's Main Street is charming, there is a variety of dining options, Asheville is not far as are the mountains and outdoor sporting activities. My girlfriends and I enjoyed a restful weekend away at Base Camp. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed to cook Friday night and for breakfast. Location was not with the other cabins as we thought originally, but it worked out well and was in a quiet neighborhood. Loved the decor! Went to Dupont and hiked a little and saw some waterfalls, then to downtown Hendersonville for lunch and shopping. This was our second stay with Elisabeth and we can't say enough about how comfortable and elegant the Brightwaters Garden property is - it is simply amazing! Every detail has already been thought of and is in place. There is no hotel room or other property we've stayed in that even remotely compares to the "Garden", We always check with Elisabeth first when making our travel plans. We think their properties deserve an 11 out of a possible 10!!
Our family "took over" the Brightwaters compound for about 4 days. My sister and I had the bottom floor of the historic Lodge. It was beautifully decorated throughout. We each had a private room with queen bed and private bath. The full kitchen was stocked with pots, pans, dishes, etc, and a large refrigerator and stove.
