I saw Dr. Barash in the hospital and was so impressed with his knowledge of medications. He is really smart and good at figuring out which combination of medications will help, even when you’ve tried nearly everything.
In the 2 years I saw him, each visit he probably only spent 3 minutes with me just to refill my medication and each visit instead left a different intern to assess me. The only real conversation we had about my mental health, he showed 0 empathy and compassion. Comparing me (while I was in a very bad state of depression due to an assault) to his own children, not even trying to understand why I was depressed and instead opting to up my medications. The worst psychiatrist I've ever had.
Amazing care, Brilliant Doctors, Life Savers.
I trust his guidance on medication. He’s straight forward and intelligent and willing to think outside the box. He was determined to treat all my symptoms and optimize my wellbeing where I could feel like myself again. He really does care .
Rude and unprofessional. Don't trust your vulnerable loved ones to his "care"
I had been with Dr. Barash for several years when he dropped me as a patient with no warning. I may have a lot of mental heath problems, but that is no reason to abandon a patient. He makes you feel less than enough and talks down to you when you don't agree with him. In a crisis he did more harm than good. His office wait times are ridiculous and you always have to see a med student before you can even see Dr. Barash and if you are unfortunate enough to need the hospital for extra help, let's just say it isn't pretty. I have worked at a facility that Brian Barash was a psychiatrist at and having worked at similar facilities, I can say that he is one of the most unprofessional physicians I have worked with. Among many negative experiences, one that sticks out the most was when I brought a client in (who was admitted for suicide), they just prior had a terrible meeting with their family who berated them and brought them to tears. In short, they were having a depressive meltdown when Dr. Barash was scheduled to see them. Upon seeing them baw... read more
Our family has been very well taken care of by the entire staff of CPA. They have always shown their joy in having us come for our appointments and by helping us schedule new appointments. Dr. Barash has been a God-send with his extensive knowledge of medications and his expertise with serious psychiatric conditions. When no one else could balance the right medications or treatment Dr. Barash was able to. He has been very compassionate and straight forward. He respects a patient by letting them help decide what treatments to... read more
