Boyd and his wife Kate Moody Boyd were large landowners and a prosperous farming family. They had many hundreds of acres of land from the present location to further up Hemphil Road. My girl friend and I drove up from Asheville (about 45 minutes away) and we were looking for a choose and cut farm. Boyd’s seem to fit the bill until we saw the prices. The trees are definitely beautiful but very over priced. Our family has been going to trees farms in this area for 18 years and have never spent more than $50 for a 7 ft tree. Boyd’s tree Farm had very questionable sizes marked on a few of their trees. we measured that tree with our measuring stick and it was clearly 7 Ft but they were charging 8 ft prices. T... read more

Such a wonderful and pleasant experience! It was extremely organized and very easy to practice social distancing even while meeting Santa Claus. I was thoroughly impressed with the set up in the kindness of the employees. We will definitely be making this our new family tradition every year. We love continuing a great family tradition at Boyd's Mountain Tree Farm. picking the perfect tree and dinner in Maggie Valley. memories I pray my children will cherish and remember me by. The tree farm is perfect in every way, affordable, perfect trees, great staff, helpful, and kicks off the holiday spirit!
We went last year with our entire family. We had been on vacation and decided to stop by. We are addicted. We started a family tradition. We will be stopping by this vacation too!! We’ve talked about the experience several times throughout the year. Walking the farm, Santa, refreshments and perfectly securing the tree for the long ride home.
