The place was completely gutted in 2006 and was rebuilt again. The restaurant is famous for its wonderful oysters, seafood platter and shrimps. It takes pride in using the freshest ingredients and the catch of the day is always worth trying out. You can also book private parties at this venue.

Visit last week for the 1st time and it will be the last. Bathrooms dirty, table not wipe down, and the inside was hot. The ceiling fans looked like they had never been clean before. Most of the food was fry the only option for steam was shrimp. Wish fish could be serve grill. Food was ok. We also left the place full of mosquitos bites (take your repellent).

We came to this place when we lived in MtP, before the original building burned down. I've been waiting to come back for a long time. The shrimp are imported farmed shrimp, the fish is way over cooked and dry and the crab cakes are barely 2 1/2 inches. The service was terrible. The bar tender tried to serve us a beer they didn't have thinking we wouldn't know the difference. An absolute travesty that such an intimate, charleston icon has turned into another Tourest trap.

Bar none the freshest and best shrimp and oysters I've ever had. Totally recommend this place. Love the ambiance, great staff and great food
