Everytime we have had to deal with Boone over the last 5 years, it seems to go further down hill. The wait times are ridiculous, the staff seems less than thrilled to be at work, and it is always dirty. Most of the ER staff this visit were helpful but there was one nurse we had that seemed irritated that she had to do anything. Find a new job if you no longer care for what you are doing...... I had an okay visit. I was really disappointed in the way the people at the front desk of the outpatient part of Boone acted. I had a scheduled ESI yesterday (1-4-17) and somehow it got moved to (1-5-17) without my consent. Now mind you we drive over an hour to get to columbia so I wasnt very happy. The lady at the desk named Allie was very rude to me. As I walked off she smarted welcome to me and I don't find it funny. We were in the ER Tuesday evening with my daughter's dislocated elbow. Dr. Orlando and ALL the staff, from the registrar to the nurses, were fantastic. They were friendly, competent, and made my 11 yr old feel comfortable and calm. Yet another great experience with Boone!
My family and I spent 14 long hours in the ICU waiting room hoping and praying for a positive outcome. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The ICU nurses, PA, and Doctors worked amazingly as a team and our whole family could see it. I can't thank them enough for all that they did to try to save my grandpa. I hope you give them the recognition they deserve.
I have been a patient at Boone several times. I have recieved great care there....from my bypass four years ago, to a stay in November, to a pacemaker implanted yesterday. Brittnay and Jessica are two of the great nurses on 4th floor.
