Best Breakfast Ever! – Let me just say...Try the Chocolate French Toast! Amazing! The food is very good. The only downfall is that you need to plan for an hour wait.
Not Worth the Price – Tell me, how do the "poor starving artists" of Wicker Park afford this place? I thought it was overpriced for the lukewarm, stale french toast I got. I guess the "hip" ambiance keeps them coming back, but I thought the food was so-so at best, the coffee was ok, and the waitress not once came back to our table except with the bill. We had to flag down busboys for coffee. They seemed to be the only ones working hard! There is NO way I would wait an hour or more for this place.
Bongo Has the Best Food – Absolutely the best breakfast (or lunch during the week) in the city. You will find more then one meal on the menu you'll want to order; so many egg and tasty pancake selections from which to choose (and did you see the Chocolate Tower?!) Friendly service, great music and yes, you will wait to get in. But it's so very worth the wait, and there's a great bookstore next door in which to pass the time. You want to eat right away, then put an Ego in the toaster and stay home.
Bongo-licious! – Great brunch food! The menu is extensive, and all of the food is very high-quality. The only bad part is the long wait, but it is well worth it. The chocolate french toast is absolutely sinful!
Never again!!! – Tried this place earlier this year. The location was convenient for meeting friends, and we were intrigued by the name, and the high ratings listed here and elsewhere. BAD MISTAKE!! Waited nearly an hour (in the hallway), finally got seated at a table no more that 4 inches from the next table. Then was informed that some of the items on the menu weren't available that day. Settled for something with a bunch of glop on it. Was tasting it till the following Tuesday. You can have this place!!
oo la la french toast! – The lines are certainly long, but it was definately worth the wait! The french toast was absolutely decadent. Who would have thought that a breakfast consisting of chocolate could be so delicious in the morning. The service was prompt and the dress was very casual. I would definately go again even after being out late the night before. It is worth only a couple hours of sleep for.
Miss the Bongo! – Used to live in Chicago and eat here every weekend. Great brunch, great atmosphere. Chicago breakfast at it's best.
