You might pass by this casual and slightly funky place and dismiss it as just another hole-in-the-wall, but do not be fooled. Inside, it is done up with whimsical lighting and bright paint. The menu takes the best of Californian cuisine and fusion trends. The wait staff is as hip as the joint itself and just as accomplished. The entrees are imaginative, fresh and never less than very good. The wine list is also good, featuring Californian vintages.

Incredible – Two words: Mac and Cheese. Delicious. The food is great, but my only complaint is how small and cramped the restaurant is. You can hardly hear the person you're sitting across from and you practically eat dinner in your neighbor's lap. Very crowded and cramped, but delicious!
Good comfort food in Bernal Heights Mmm... comfort food. I really enjoyed my trip to Blue Plate. The restaurant has a very warm feel and the service was friendly and attentive. The fried chicken is delicious. It was cold when I was there, but there is a large patio that I want to try on my next visit.
Blue Plate one of the best restaurants in San Francisco This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the city! The wait staff is very nice and the food is the best bang for your buck you'll get in San Francisco. They have a good wine and beer selection but no liquor. If its nice, be sure to ask to be seated in the small courtyard in the back. Great atmosphere for a meal. I recommend the pork chop. It was great!
Blue Plate is Awesome! I visit this place quite often. The food is really very good. Their service is also very good. I think one can surely try food here. It??s awesome and reasonable too.
One of the best! – I visited my friends in San Francisco a month ago, and I just wanna say that this is one of the finest restaurants I've been. They took me here and I absolutely love it. The meatloaf that's mixed with beef, pork and bacon. MMM omg.. I wanna go back.. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!
Blue Plate Awesome! What more do I have to say? The Blue Plate Meatloaf is to die for ! I totally recommend the Blue Plate to eat. Great atmosphere & staff. They make you feel at home!
Tasty Vittles – They serve some tasty food here. We were a small group that started off with the beef carpaccio, grilled monterey bay squid and the antipasto. My favorite was the perfectly grilled squid with lemon. The lemon combined with the grilled flavor was terrific. My main course was the pan seared local rock cod. I changed my mind... – I'm into conscious restaurants that serve organic and local produce. So I was about to try and make reservations for my friend's birthday, when checking their website, I saw the t-shirts they sell. I was shocked. One wonders if this restaurant is of good taste if their t-shirts show a smiley pig bleeding with a axe cracking its head!
Fun eats in the mission – I went to Blue Plate with coworkers for a dinner and really enjoyed to food and atmosphere. The dishes are unique and the design of the restaurant makes the most out of the space. Blue Plate have a very secial patio outside in a cute garden for overflow- it'll make you hope you get seated in the back.
