About this business
For almost two centuries the hotel has offered hospitality to locals and visitors alike. It began life in 1816 as a simple boarding house for summer visitors to one of America's earliest seaside resorts. Its owner, Thomas H. Hughes, called his new boarding house "The Big House". Delicious food. Love their breakfasts. I see the blue plate specials are back and that great to know. Anything Congress Hall does. is wonderful.

Good food, beautiful atmosphere. Service was adequate. Waitress and bus staff were friendly, but not very attentive.
Loud groups are an issue but not much you can do
The food used to be better, but it is still expensive. Crab cakes were just ok (used to be much better) and came with cole slaw and cheap french fries for $34. Breakfast and room service was still good, but not worth the price. The atmosphere and service are still lovely.
