fantastic restaurant – Everything about this place is just so charming! Sushi was super fresh and presented beautifully; fish cuts are very generous; crispy fish with ginger and tamarind sauce was perfect with healthy rice. It seems to me that they are not doing a real japanese foods, but so creative with own-styled dishes. If you expect an original japanese, this is probably not the place. sushi for americans – i did not enjoy the sushi, i am for more traditional sush, not fusion. Unbeatable!! – I highly recommend this sushi restaurant. Prompt service, excellent quality fish and desserts are nothing to sneeze at! I highly suggest the spider roll, the rainbow roll, and my favorite of all THE VOLCANO! Best Sushi ever!! – My wife and I have been to Blue Fish House many times and are always impressed. The tuna is superb!! Our favorites are Blue Fish Eye roll and Crispy Tuna Asparagus. The sushi is priced fair; the portion size is great, the service wonderful and the fish always fresh and delicious. Their Happy Hour is also great! Mon- Thurs 5 pm- 7pm,,you get $1 sushi a piece & $2 beer. Our all-around favorite sushi place.
spankmywasabi – This is my second favorite japanese restaurant. It is absolutely delicious. It is clean and nice looking; i love the art on the wall and the decoration. From outside it looks like an old house about to fall, but inside it is dim and modern looking. The prices cannot be better. Blue fish rocks! The only bad experience i ever had is the slowness of the staff.
Best Spicy Tuna roll! – I recommend sampling from the creative roll menu at Blue Fish. Each one offers a fantastic treat for your palate. My favorites: rock&roll, cutie hama, deep fried madness and the spicy's. The spicy tuna roll is the best I've ever had - huge chunks of fish and special sauce!
Go for the food, not the service – Service is horrendous, they can't ever seem to bring the food out at the same time - last time I had my entree delivered BEFORE the appetizer! Clueless waitstaff. However the food and prices are wonderful....not many places in Houston you can get good food for $10 a person!
Love this place – I live right down the street from Blue Fish and I go at least once a week sometimes more. The service is always great and I have never been disappointed by anything I've tried. I especially enjoy the sushi. Many rolls that you can not find anywhere else. I've brought many of my friends here and they all have fallen in love with it. I would highly recommend it to everyone.
average – The sushi and hand rolls were very good. I found it cheaper than other sushi in Houston, The sake was cheaper per bottle too. The chop sticks were very cheap, and I hate that when I eat sushi. I have to agree with the review from 2/21 - with the cheap decor and the very uncomfortable seating. My rear was hurting when I got up from dinner. I will most likely not return because there are many more sushi places that are very comfortable and about the same price.
