Blue Fish House is a great find! Small and slightly off the beaten path, this place is really pretty cool. Great food & service! I especially love their menu: dishes like "Wrapper's Delight" and "Some Young Guy" mixed in with traditional plates like Tuna Tataki and Grilled Fish make dining here a fun experience.
Blue Fish House – Blue fish has a good variety on their menu and you can beat their lunch prices but the Sushi is mediocre at best. THe other dishes are good but not great but they have good presentation and once again great prices. I do recommend the Spider ROll. Unlike the sashimi the Blue Fish version of the Spider is roll is great!
Great sushi at a terrific price! – This place is a wonderful find, a welcome alternative to the snooty, overpriced sushi restaurants that seem to be sprouting up all over downtown and midtown. The sushi and sashimi is very fresh and delicious, and the prices are amazing. The place is cozy, and I could see it getting very crowded, but otherwise it's worth the wait!
Potential for Tops – This place has got a good foundation... ambience, location, a decent scene.... To be honest, my experience here was at best mediocre. The waitstaff was highly attentative and very eager. The food, however, seemed lacking in traditional sushi fare; the place seemed to not have any masago (smelt roe), and all they could offer was tobiko (flying fish eggs). I could eat here every day – I have been eating sushi in Houston at least once a week for the past 3 years or so and in all of that time, Blue Fish House, has been the best. The sushi is ultra fresh, and several of their rolls are very unique. Although I have never tried any of the other entrees (the sushi is just too good not to get) they all sound fabulous and others that have tried them have been pleased. GREAT FIND! – What a great find! The guys that work here are super friendly, the fish is the freshest we've had in a long time, and the menu selection covers ALL the bases! Did I mention that the sushi is SUPER FRESH!? Try some of their fancy sushi rolls and tasty meat or tofu dishes. You MUST try the "MOJI" for dessert, it is the most delicious ice cream treat! A new sushi fav! – My girlfriend and I had a great time! The sushi was very fresh and the rolls were creative and tasty. They were a little busy, but the waitress was fantastic. When we got the bill, I was pleasantly surprised. Excellent service, I will return! The dining area is kind of small, so I would make reservations if I had a large group of people.
